I am Blake Mayer, the 12th Grade Academic and College counselor. I attended all four years of high school at St. Monica, and am a graduate of the class of 2003. Upon my graduation, I attended CSU Northridge, where I graduated with my BS and MS in Recreation Management. I was able to place my extensive program development and implementation skills to use for St. Monica Catholic High School as the Director of Student Activities. I then moved into the Campus Ministry department, where I was able to further continue working with Mariner students in the exploration of their talents and personal gifts.
During my time as a Director at St. Monica, I worked extensively with 12th graders and college-bound seniors. It was during this time that I decided to pursue school counseling. To accomplish that goal, I attended Loyola Marymount University full time in pursuit my MA and PPS Credential in Counseling. Upon graduation in the spring of 2017, I was blessed to be able to returned to St. Monica to serve as the College Counselor. I love working with students and families to find colleges that are a “fit” and to guide students through the entire college search, application, and acceptance process. I find it very rewarding to work with young people as they strive to shape their future by seeking higher education and gaining access to opportunities to transform the world.
