Financial Aid/Merit Scholarships

St. Monica Catholic High School remains committed to meeting the financial needs of the families that have chosen SMCHS as their school. Financial Aid is available in the following ways:

  • Need-based Financial Aid
  • Catholic Education Foundation (CEF)
Additionally, St. Monica offers two merit-based scholarships:
  • Academic Scholarships
  • Leadership Scholarships

 

Applying for Financial Aid

Catholic Education Foundation (CEF)

St. Monica Catholic High School is one of the qualifying schools at which CEF awards will be honored. For additional information, please visit www.cefdn.org

 

To apply, you will be asked to submit your 2018 tax return.  Applications must be submitted to St. Monica by December 19, 2019.  Applications can be submitted by mail at SMCHS - 1030 Lincoln Blvd - Santa Monica, CA 90403, by email to ryoung@stmonicafaculty.net or in-person to Mrs. Renett Young.

 

Additionally, the CEF Foundation will be onsite at St. Monica on November 15, 2019 from 4 pm - 8 pm in the Grand Pavilion to assist in application processing.  Processing will be done for all current 8th - 11 grade students who wish to apply. 

 

Merit Scholarships

 

Academic Scholarships 

St. Monica Catholic High School will offer academic scholarships payable over four years while attending St. Monica Catholic High School *.  Any 8th grade student who scores in the 96-99th composite percentile nationally on the HSPT exam at any test location, and who successfully completes the SMCHS admissions process, is automatically granted an academic scholarship.

*Please note that annual renewal of this award requires students to maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.6 and demonstrate satisfactory citizenship.

 

Leadership Scholarships 

St. Monica Catholic High School will offer 10 leadership scholarships of $10,000 each, payable over four years while attending St. Monica Catholic High School *.  A letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach or supervisor who can attest to the contributions and demonstrated leadership of the candidate is due Friday, January 24, 2020Leadership Scholarship recipients will be notified in their admissions packet.

 

*Please note that annual renewal of this award requires student to maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, demonstrate satisfactory citizenship, and lead or actively participate in a major school activity.
