Janelle Peters » Bio

Hello Mariners! My name is Dr. Janelle Peters, and I teach English. Journeying from Los Angeles to San Diego for college, I attended UCSD for my BA in Literatures of the World and the Study of Religion with High Honors. After earning an AM in Religion at the University of Chicago, I completed my doctorate at Emory University and trained for a teaching credential at the University of California. I have taught at several universities and high schools. My published work includes academic scholarship, national media articles, and a TED-Ed video. Notably, my research on Vatican soccer has been mentioned by the Vatican's Clericus Cup on social media!
I grew up Catholic in a large extended family. In my spare time, I like to play racquet sports, kayak, ski, hike, read, visit museums, and attend both the opera and my nephews' musical performances.
