Break a sweat, change your life!

As part of the renovation of the lower level of the Mortensen Athletic Center, Saint John’s Health Center Foundation and UCLA Health Sound Body Sound Mind joined
 in support of this project. In appreciation for their contribution, the weight equipment ribbon cutting was held on February 28.

words of appreciation on behalf of their

om Gasper spoke of the importance of physical fitness and thanked the Saint John’s Health Foundation and Sound Body Sound Mind for their support.

The SMCHS cheer team performed as did the school choir, singing a rousing rendition of “Eye of the Tiger.” Bob Klein ’65, President and CEO of Saint John's Health Center Foundation, shared some words with the students about his excitement to give back to his alma mater. Sound Body Sound Mind co-founder and parishioner, Bill Simon, also spoke to the students about the need to make fitness a part of one’s life and emphasizing the Sound Body Sound Mind motto, “Break a sweat, change your life”. After the assembly, representatives of these groups proceeded down to the weight room for the ribbon cutting ceremony and for student demonstrations of the new equipment. Thank you to both of these organizations for their support of St. Monica Catholic Schools!
