Mariners Win Santa Fe Football League Title

With Friday night's 17-16 come-from-behind-win over St. Anthony High School at Santa Monica College, the Mariners moved to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in Santa Fe League play to secure its first league title since 2010.

 

The Mariners jumped to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, but trailed the Saints 16-7 at halftime.

 

The Mariners scored 10 points in the final five minutes of the game, including a touchdown and a field goal to go ahead 17-16 as time expired.

 

St. Monica Catholic High School will host Campbell Hall next Friday in a non-league matchup before likely hosting a CIF playoff game on Friday, November 13.
