St. Monica Schools, part of the vibrant St. Monica Catholic Community in Santa Monica, is accepting applications for a full-time Music Program Director for the 2021 - 2022 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching and inspiring young musicians of mixed abilities with-in a middle and high school setting. Responsibilities of this position include the teaching students of varying skill levels; the conceptualization, development, and rehearsals of mainstage productions, in-class projects, and showcases; and the leadership and vision for the development of a sequential middle through high school Performing Arts Program.

A bachelor’s degree in Music is necessary; a master’s degree is preferred. Candidates should have at least three years of experience teaching in a student-centered classroom, integrating technology in the student learning experience that enhances student experiences and growth. Prior experience developing and facilitating online learning lessons is a plus.

Subject Specific Desired Qualifications:
Instruct instrumental strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, and keyboards Music classes and ensembles

Ability to teach strings, conduct small ensembles as well as orchestra; guitar is highly preferred

Create and/or modify curriculum in strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion and keyboard

Organize and implement performance opportunities

Knowledge of music theory and composition, instrumentation, and evaluation criteria.

Knowledge and ability to teach performance skills, song composition, listening, reading and notation
