Interested in an engaging, lively and comprehensive preparation course for the High School Placement Test (HSPT)? St. Monica Catholic High School is pleased to offer a series of classes that will prepare students who plan on taking the exam on January 19, 2019. We invite all 8th grade students to take advantage of this opportunity to review basic test-taking skills, hone in on individual subject skills, address question types and material unique to the HSPT, and improve in areas that require some specialized attention.

Members of the Class of 2019 started the school year at the college boot camp. This full day of information and practice relating to the college admissions process included: common application, Naviance, creating a resume, and letters of recommendation. Guidance counselors and teachers spoke to the students on the topics of UC eligibility, best fit of colleges based on grades, location, and interest, and the importance of beginning their personal statement. The counselors will meet with students throughout the semester to continue this process. Additionally, the students will have the opportunity to meet with representatives of many colleges during the college visit days.
