St. Monica Catholic High School

Congratulations, Class of 2017!

The 79th Annual Commencement Ceremony was a proud moment for staff, family, and friends who gathered on the Hilton Schoolyard to celebrate the Class of 2017.  The ceremony was held on campus for the first time since 1960, which provided a symbolic backdrop for the momentous occasion.
The seniors dedicated a prayer and sunflower to St. Monica before entering the school through the main doors for the last time as students.  They processed out of the East Wing to the enthusiastic cheers of loved ones.  The ceremony included powerful messages from salutatorian Will Higbie and valedictorian Jerrell Briggs as well as an inspirational music selection, The Climb, sung by senior members of the SMCHS Concert Choir.  The evening concluded with a beautiful reception hosted by the Class of 2020, complete with Mariner-themed photo stations. It was a memorable celebration of the accomplishments and contributions of our seniors.  We are so proud of them and excited for their continued success at the universities of their choice- a complete list is available in the Guidance section of the SMCHS website or by clicking
Congratulations, graduates!  We look forward to your return home!
